Brad Greek

Drawing since the age of 2, art has always been a part of Brad Greek’s life. Brad is primarily self-educated through experimentation with many medium, material, and subject matters and a natural talent. Brad studied art and architectural drawing in his home state of Ohio. A tour of duty in the military brought him south to a rural life in Georgia and the Florida panhandle which has influenced much of his work. Greek has exhibited particular painting skill in oils and acrylics. His expertise in exacting detail can be seen in his many scratchboard drawings of aviation and wildlife. Rural scenes, tropical vistas, dramatic coastlines and some fantasy work comprise most of Brad’s portfolio. Brad has recently settled into a “Plein Air” groove with inspiration found in landmarks, seascapes and landscapes from our local area.
Brad is truly an award winning artist. He has participated in many juried and invitational exhibits including: the Beaux Art Exhibition, Northwest Florida fine arts Exhibition and the arts and design society of Ft. Walton Beach. Much of Brad’s art is available in limited edition Giclée prints in many locations around the panhandle.
“I enjoy painting from a vision I get while the work is in progress, creating as it appears to me on the canvas. I am inclined to paint with a detailed style of realism, but will venture into a more symbolic surrealistic style as well. The future may hold many other styles."
"Most artists are known for one certain style or subject matter. I understand the logic behind this common practice in the art world however, I feel like this stereotyping of an artist’s creativity limits their potential abilities. I have found it impossible to stay within one style or medium due to the inspirations to create what drives me. I will do a series of similar pieces for a show or gallery presentation on occasion. The search to do something different has taken me across the spectrum of styles, medium and subject. Bringing a variety of work to the table in my opinion, appeals to a more varied group of collectors in the world, keeping them wondering what I will create next."
Terry Gilecki

An ardent interest in the beauty of Koi and the diversity of their color has led Terry Gilecki, to devote his artistic endeavors to capturing their essence. Collectors all over the world have been buying these exotic images and, while Koi are the main feature of his work, Gilecki also likes to include their surroundings by merging the elements above and below, as well as those reflected on the water’s surface, in his paintings.
Born in 1954 in British Columbia, Gilecki received a diploma in Commercial Art in 1973 and began working as a free-lance commercial artist. His imagination and ability to innovate proved to be outstanding when confronted with challenges. In just a few years, with a talented staff he had personally trained, he began to independently produce large pictorial art for international advertising corporations.
Along with this endeavor, he began painting fine art. As the growing demand for his art increased, he realized that he had found his niche and now devotes himself fully to the field of fine art.
Gilecki’s attraction to and study of Koi brought him to the realization that through his paintings, he would be able to emulate the simple and rewarding pleasure of actually watching Koi. Gilecki is, “pleased that the ‘effect’ translated so well into his art, allowing him to bring a small piece of Paradise into a viewer’s home.”
